Historic business mission of BESS Energy to Gotion in China: A unique experience in the heart of global technology
The business mission organized by BESS Energy in early June 2026 to the headquarters and industrial facilities of Gotion High-Tech in Hefei, China was completed with complete success.
For the first time in the annals of the Greek energy market, a group of Greek investors and top executives had the opportunity to visit a real, vertically integrated battery production plant. The participants saw with their own eyes, in great detail, how lithium battery technology is born from scratch!
Experiencing global technological milestones up close
The intensive mission program offered Greek investors unique technical experiences that are unprecedented:
The 7-hour battery in Lujiang: We were guided through the impressive project, a 32MW/200MWh installation with Gotion batteries, which stands out worldwide for its rare 7-hour operating time — something that does not exist anywhere in Greece and is changing the data of storage.
- A breath away from the largest battery in the world: At the central factory of Jinzhai, the Greek delegation witnessed the largest battery on the planet, in the emblematic project of the 180MWh BESS station with the 20MWh container of Gotion!
- World-class quality control: We visited the famous Validation Institute at Gotion Headquarters, a model laboratory where the safety and quality of systems are tested.
An architectural and business marvel in the heart of Hefei: Our mission was lucky enough to be given a tour of the futuristic headquarters of Gotion High-Tech, a truly iconic complex that steals the show: an imposing square building, which hides an impressive round design inside. This architectural masterpiece already hosts more than 4,000 employees, while the complex even operates a state-of-the-art hotel! The most shocking thing, however, which proves the dizzying pace of growth of the colossus, is that a second, identical building is already being built right next door. With an incredible construction time of just 18 months, the new building will be delivered in a few months, doubling the head office capacity to 8,000 employees.
Top Technical Support & Strategic Meetings
Throughout the mission and at every step of the way, Gotion’s top technicians and engineers accompanied our team, also conducting a specialized technical seminar. Gotion’s people were in constant communication with the Greek investors, providing complete, detailed and completely transparent answers to every specialized question.
The culmination of the mission came with the official meeting with Mr. Ma Guifu, the Vice President of Gotion High-Tech and 3rd in the hierarchy of the global Group. Mr. Ma Guifu, having the exclusive responsibility for the energy storage sector, confirmed in the most solemn way the importance that Gotion gives to Greece as a strategic market-gateway for the entire Southeastern Mediterranean.
An unforgettable, top-notch hospitality
Beyond the purely technological and business aspects, the hospitality of Gotion High-Tech was simply fantastic. The company embraced the Greek delegation with incredible warmth, covering every detail of our transportation, activities and accommodation.
We had the opportunity to tour the impressive and growing city of Hefei of 10 million inhabitants, to get to know the local culture up close and enjoy a sensational gastronomic experience, tasting authentic, traditional Chinese cuisine at officially hosted dinners.
